Are you working with a family that needs a creative treatment intervention? Is your client in need of assessment, parent coaching, or youth mentoring?

Granite Bridges can help

Some of the services we can help with:

  • Family assessments: We can extend your eyes and ears regarding a families actual functioning and dynamics. Some families can be confusing because they present differently in session. In the wilderness, nobody can keep up a “show” in a new element, learning new skills, while being challenged by a new environment. Because of the natural “in-between” moments we uniquely see in the wilderness, we can quickly and clearly identify common patterns and provide information for your continued work with the family. The wilderness is simply the best assessment tool we have found for understanding what makes a family tick.

  • Wilderness Interventions: we can use our own curriculum, or implement an intervention you’d like done that is more lengthy than a 55-minute session could provide.

  • Between wilderness and RTC/TBS: After wilderness, if your family would like more time together, but you don’t feel they should have that much unsupervised time, Granite Bridges can essentially be a facilitated experience of success and a strong Bridge between wilderness and their next placement. It can also be the only time siblings can join in a young persons treatment journey.

  • After-care: For Ed-Consultants working with a family that didn’t receive enough family therapy, home contracting, or sibling involvement in the Wilderness, RTC, or TBS they are returning from.

  • Youth Mentoring: If your clients live in Portland, Granite Bridges can provide mentoring. Contact us to learn more.

  • Parent Coaching: We can work with parents via phone/skype or do Portland-based sessions. However, we do not work with parents unless they complete a Family Expedition with us. It is simply not possible to understand the family’s dynamics and the parent’s styles and blind spots without seeing the family in action. We love parent coaching. Families interested in continuing to work with us can do so after the expedition.
